🎭 Big News from the School of Performing Arts! 🎭

We’re thrilled to announce that Anna Halza has been named the winner of the 2026 Bela Kiralyfalvi National Student Playwriting Competition! 🎉

Anna’s original play, “DINNERTIME: A Play in Seven Courses,” captivated the selection committee with its bold storytelling that blends humor, philosophy, and the surreal in a truly unforgettable way.

A fourth-year student at the University of Oklahoma, Anna is an emerging voice in theatre, both as a playwright and performer, and we’re excited to showcase her work this fall.

📅 “DINNERTIME” will receive a staged reading at Wichita State University September 17–19, 2026 as the inaugural show of our fall season, directed by accomplished film and theatre actress and WSU alumna, Jane Gabbert.

Join us in celebrating the next generation of playwrights and the power of new voices in theatre!
