The official USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology) Student chapter for Wichita State University. Members of the organization are students who are pursuing a Major/Minor in Theatre Technology & Design. Meetings are usually held once a month in Wilner Auditorium in the commons area.

*OUR GOALS-
(1) Bring THEATRE AWARENESS to our school and to the Wichita area. (2) Outreach to Wic

hita area highschools in a FUN way through workshops. (3) Get technology & design students INVOLVED in School of Performing Arts events and Wichita area events.

Sorry for slacking on updates! It's been a busy semester for us here at WSU! For those who expressed interest in becoming members of USITT/our re-activated chapter, please go to this website and become an official national member (if you can!). Hey there Shockers! Our fall SPA welcome back picnic is Monday, August 22nd from 5-7 pm in the Wilner Commons. Meet your fellow SPA classmates and faculty and get information about this semester's auditions, shows, and events. There will be plenty of free food, so just bring yourself and your smile! Theatrum Elysium (TE San Pedro Rep) is looking for a COSTUME and a LIGHTING designer for it's fall production of Oedipus Rex.This positions are paid. The Stipend is $350.

Additionally, we will put special priority on making sure that you receive photographs and/or video of your work for your own portfolio.Who are we looking for?We are looking for FEARLESS artists. We need designers who are excited about creating worlds in non-traditional theatre spaces.

We want designers who are excited to come in to production meetings with lots of new ideas to share and who are eager to have their artistic vision realized. TE San Pedro Rep is a theatre company that loves and celebrates the theatrical art form, and believes that through tremendous effort we can achieve the highest form of that art. We are looking for designers who also believe in putting out tremendous effort to see their vision realized.

If this description sounds like you, please send an email to Location Director, Chris Lang ([email protected]) with a cover letter describing your qualifications and the type of artist that you are, a resume or CV, digital samples of your work (if available), and a list of at least 3 times where you will be available for an interview.
We will begin interviewing candidates this week and will continue until the positions are filed.

The production runs as follows: Tech week begins The last week of October and the show runs until the last week of December. Now accepting resumes for Production Intern for our 50th Anniversary Season -2014/ 2015. Contract begins early December 2014 and runs through March 2015 (full time, includes some overtime). Intern works directly with Production Stage Manager and Director of Production. Ideal candidate has stage management, music, and/or opera experience.

Compensation: CA hourly minimum wage; parking included; college credit if applicable.
