Wichita State has launched the Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine and Assistive Technology (IRMAT), an initiative that will merge cutting-edge science with health care innovation. By partnering with leaders like Ascension Via Christi, Heartspring, and the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, IRMAT will revolutionize assistive technology and clinical care. This institute will conduct clinical trials and drive advancements to expand access to cutting-edge care across Kansas. The institute’s work begins now and will expand at the future Wichita Biomedical Campus in 2027.
