From Revelers and Spitballers to Piker's Peak: A History of Baseball at Fairmount College and WSU

WSU Professor Emeritus of History John Dreifort will provide an insider’s view of the history of WSU baseball. Recently retired, John Dreifort taught for 55 years at WSU as Professor of Modern European History and Diplomacy and the History of Baseball. He is the author of three books and numerous articles published in scholarly professional journals. He taught a course in the history of baseball for more than 25 years. Both of his sons played for WSU and won All-American honors during the Gene Stephenson era.

It is time to think about spring gardening!

Join us at the WSURA February Brown Bag Lunch 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9 at the WSU Metropolitan Complex, Room 138.

Mary and Tom Wine and Ben Herzog will discuss strategies to prepare your spring and year-round garden. They will also share information about Sedgwick County Extension services, the Master Gardener program, and favorite publications.

The dinner planned for tomorrow January 27th at Gabby's Peruvian Restaurant is cancelled. We just discovered that they are CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays. So very sorry!!!

Interested in participating in a WSU doctoral student research study? Researchers are particularly interested in recruiting adults 60 and over to participate in this 10-15 minute online survey.

Dr. Cynthia Richburg (Communication Sciences and Disorders) is working with a student who is looking for people who are familiar with healthcare and healthcare providers. They are recruiting research participants to help gather information about people’s opinions on professional appearance in a healthcare setting. Any questions can be directed to [email protected] .
