Last week Central State University proudly welcomed the fourth cohort of students participating in our Intel-sponsored summer internship in Semiconductors and Microelectronics, offered through the Semiconductor Education and Research Program (SERP).

Selected from more than 560 applicants, 48 students earned a place in this competitive summer internship program, including 8 Central State students. Over the next eight weeks, participants will engage in hands-on learning, research, and professional development experiences in microelectronics and semiconductor technology.

A defining feature of the 2026 program is the expansion of training sites. After operating with three in-person training sites in 2025, the program expanded in 2026 to seven in-person training sites across six states. This expansion increases program capacity, extends geographic reach and provides interns with access to a broader network of academic training environments.

Together with Intel, we're investing in talent, expanding opportunity, and building the future of innovation. Intel's sponsorship continues to reflect its commitment to building a strong talent pipeline in support of the expanding semiconductor ecosystem in Ohio and across the nation.

In addition to being named the nation’s fastest-growing HBCU, Central State was also ranked the No. 2 most affordable college in the country for online business degree programs by Learn.org. The ranking evaluated institutions based on affordability and program quality, highlighting universities that provide accessible pathways to career-focused business education.

The CSU family is showing up in a big way, and we’re just getting started.

Thanks to the power of our alumni, students, faculty, staff, and supporters, we have officially exceeded the $250,000 goal for President Kuti’s Alumni Impact Challenge.
