Today, Battle of the Decades begins!
As part of our Homecoming 2026 Giving Campaign, we’re calling on Centralians everywhere to walk that road back for a student who is traveling it right now.
https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/CSUHOME

Here’s how it works:
- Make your gift. Every contribution supports Central State University’s strategic priorities and helps CSU direct resources where they can make the greatest impact.
- Claim your class year. Represent The Originals, the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, 2000s, 2010s or Next Gen and help your decade and class year climb the leaderboard.
- Rep your affinity. Tell us more about your Central story by representing your Greek organization, Marauder athletic team and CSU family legacy.

We’ll recognize the decade that raises the most, the top three class years in dollars raised, the top three class years with the most donors and the Greek organizations and athletic teams showing up with the most donors.

JOIN THE CHALLENGE: https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/CSUHOME
One gift. One campaign. Every part of your Central story represented.

Congratulations to CSU alumna Taya Kidd '08, Ohio's 2027 Teacher of the Year!

Taya teaches second grade at French Run Elementary in the Reynoldsburg City School District, where she's spent the last seven years proving that joyful learning works. Step into her room and you might find students reading upside down, glowing in the dark, dancing — or watching their teacher walk across a table. She calls it "controlled chaos," and her students call it the best part of their day.

A 2008 graduate of Central State University, Taya brings 18 years of early childhood and elementary experience to her classroom, along with a simple belief: every child can succeed, and it's her job to make sure they know it. Beyond teaching, she serves on her building leadership team and professional development committee, coaches freshman girls basketball at Pickerington North, DJs school and community events as "Ms. Cool Kidd," and is pursuing a graduate degree in multicultural education at Ohio State.

Congratulations, Taya — Ohio's students are lucky to have you. 🍎

On Monday, Central State welcomed The Honorable Congressman Mike Turner (Ohio-10th District) to campus for a firsthand look at the University’s growing impact as Ohio’s only public HBCU and 1890 Land-Grant institution.

During his visit, Congressman Turner toured the Research and Demonstration Complex and connected with farmers, community partners, faculty researchers, CSU Extension stakeholders and student scholarship recipients.

"Three years ago, the Research and Demonstration Complex at Central State University was farmland. Today, it represents a growing investment in agricultural research, innovation, education, and opportunity. This building is the first significant research building on campus ever,” said President Morakinyo A.O. Kuti.

And the impact extends far beyond campus. Through Extension programming, Central State serves stakeholders in 42 Ohio counties, strengthening individuals, families and communities across the state.
