May is National Allergy and Asthma Month!

With the change in seasons, chances are you know someone who's had a stuffy nose or some itchy eyes in the past few weeks. Seasonal Allergies are annoying, hard to combat, and can last long periods of time. Make sure you have some allergy medicine nearby!

Asthma awareness is also very important. Asthma attacks can happen quickly and without warning. Make sure you know what to do if someone around you suffers an attack or call emergency services.

Visit https://aafa.org/get-involved/asthma-and-allergy-awareness-month/ for more information about how to support those with allergies and asthma.

This past Thursday May 7. we congratulated 8 of our graduating Respiratory Care students as they received their Pinning Ceremony!

Pinning Ceremonies are a long-standing tradition and we're proud to keep it going. These students presented their capstone research projects only a few weeks ago, and now we're calling them colleagues!🙌

Congratulations to everyone who was pinned, and thank you to all the family, friends, and mentors who came to support their graduate for this occasion!

Happy Perfusion Week!

Perfusionists are such an important part of the operating room. During open heart surgeries the heart must be stopped in order to safely operate, and this means there's a perfusionist in the room operating the Cardiopulmonary Bypass Machine (also called the Heart-Lung Machine).
