โœจ Dr. Alistair Nelson: Inspiring engagement. Empowering learners. Advancing innovative education. โœจ

Join us in celebrating Dr. Alistair Nelson on reaching this incredible milestone in his Ed.D. journey! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒ

Serving as Curriculum Coordinator at The American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India, Dr. Nelson is dedicated to creating learning environments that empower students to take ownership of their learning and reach their full potential.

๐Ÿ“š His dissertation explores a critical topic in contemporary education:

Student Engagement and Self-Regulated Learning in Competency-Based Education

As schools around the world continue to rethink traditional approaches to teaching and learning, Dr. Nelson's research examines the relationship between student engagement and self-regulated learning within competency-based education. His work highlights the importance of helping students develop the skills, agency, and motivation necessary to become lifelong learners in an ever-changing world.

Dr. Nelson's work was guided by his dissertation chair, Dr. Stephanie Wasmanski, and supported by committee members Dr. Ty Frederickson and Dr. Karim Medico. His dissertation was evaluated by examiners Dr. Michael Berry and Dr. Kimberley Black.

Through his scholarship, Dr. Nelson exemplifies the vision of the Wilkes Ed.D.โ€”using research, leadership, and practice to improve educational experiences and create meaningful opportunities for learners.

This accomplishment reflects not only years of dedication and scholarship, but also a commitment to advancing educational leadership and innovation on a global scale.

Congratulations, Dr. Alistair Nelson, on this outstanding achievement! Your work will continue to inspire educators and empower students around the world. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽ“โœจ Commencement may mark the end of a degree, but it is only the beginning of a lifetime of growth, learning, and impact. โœจ๐ŸŽ“

As we continue to celebrate the accomplishments of our newest Wilkes Ed.D. graduates, Victoria Pavlishin reflects on a milestone years in the making:

๐Ÿ’ฌ "Completing my doctorate degree was a dream years in the making, and celebrating this milestone with my supportive friends and family made it even more meaningful. Throughout the journey, I formed lifelong friendships within my cohort that I will always value. This accomplishment not only reflects years of hard work, but also inspires me to continue growing and learning through future educational opportunities."

Victoria's reflection beautifully captures the spirit of the Wilkes Ed.D. experience. While earning a doctorate is a remarkable achievement, the journey is also about the relationships formed, the support received, and the personal and professional growth that occurs along the way.

Her words remind us that the Wilkes Ed.D. is more than a programโ€”it is a community of scholar-practitioners who challenge, encourage, and support one another as they work to transform education and the lives of those they serve. Through leadership, scholarship, and lifelong learning, our graduates embody the vision of the Wilkes Ed.D. by leading with purpose and creating meaningful change in their schools and communities.

Victoria also shares a special note of gratitude:

๐Ÿ’™ "I couldn't have done this without Erin Meehan-Mariano by my side (shout out to Dr. Ty for pairing us up in 615 and creating a lifelong friendship)."

Sometimes one of the greatest gifts of the doctoral journey is the people we meet along the way.

Congratulations, Dr. Victoria Pavlishin! We are excited to see how your commitment to growth, learning, and leadership continues to make a difference in the years ahead.

๐ŸŽ“โœจ Commencement may mark the end of a degree, but it is only the beginning of a leader's impact. โœจ๐ŸŽ“

As we continue to celebrate the accomplishments of our newest Wilkes Ed.D. graduates, Jordan Sharp-Rosenbaum reminds us what this journey is truly about:

๐Ÿ’ฌ "The doctoral journey taught me how to lead with empathy, resilience, and a stronger sense of purpose while advocating for the students and communities I serve. I am especially grateful for the support and encouragement of my family, friends, professors, and dissertation chair, who helped me continue forward through every challenge and moment of doubt. Earning this degree, while a personal achievement, represents a commitment to using my leadership and experiences to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others."

Jordan's words beautifully capture the vision of the Wilkes Ed.D.โ€”developing authentic, ethical, courageous, and innovative leaders who transform educational culture and practice through purposeful action.

Her reflection reminds us that leadership is not about a title or a degree. It is about using our knowledge, experiences, and influence to serve others and create meaningful change. It is also a reminder that no one earns a doctorate alone. Behind every graduate stands a community of family, friends, faculty, mentors, and colleagues whose encouragement helps make the journey possible.

And as if earning a doctorate was not enough to celebrate, Jordan and her family are also preparing to welcome a baby girl into the worldโ€”a beautiful reminder that some of life's greatest milestones happen together. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘ถ

Congratulations, Dr. Jordan Sharp-Rosenbaum. Your leadership journey is just beginning, and we cannot wait to see the impact you will continue to make in the lives of students, schools, and communities.
