Turn up the heat and learn a skill that can open doors. 🔥

This fall, get hands-on welding experience at the Wilkes Community College Ashe Campus. Whether you're interested in pursuing welding as a career, adding a valuable skill to your toolbox, or learning something you've always wanted to try, this course gives you the opportunity to learn by doing.

Classes begin September 22 and meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Scholarships are available, and pre-registration is required.

Spend your Monday evenings getting creative with Pottery at the Wilkes Community College Ashe Campus. This hands-on class is a chance to learn new techniques, explore your creativity, and enjoy the process of turning clay into something uniquely yours.

No matter your experience level, come ready to create, learn, and have a little fun along the way!

On August 20, 2026, the Wilkes Community College Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technology Program proudly hosted the NC Trucking Association for a Bendix Foundation Brakes Training Class.

A total of 25 participants from Wilkes County and surrounding areas attended this training focused on the latest brake system technologies. Topics included:
✅ Drum Brake Systems
✅ Air Disc Brake Systems
✅ Inspection & Maintenance Best Practices
✅ Diagnostic Procedures

Events like this help strengthen partnerships between education and industry while providing valuable professional development opportunities for technicians and transportation professionals across our region.
