And that's a wrap on the inaugural Lycoming Summer Piano Institute. 🎉

After a fantastic concert, these students deserved a much-needed break. Thank goodness one participant brought their automatic player piano attachment to the Talent Show & Tell session this afternoon so we could enjoy some tunes on piano rolls during the reception! 🎹

The Lycoming Summer Piano Institute is almost complete, but there's still time to hear these amazing pianists in concert on Friday at 6pm in Honors Hall!

On Thursday, the participants performed their program of solos and duos for the community at the Meadows.

We’re in the home stretch of the semester and the energy is high! 🎶 Our students have been putting in an incredible amount of work all term - showing dedication in their lessons, ensembles, and still crushing it in their classes.

Now it’s time to celebrate everything they’ve been working toward! Join us at our remaining Music at Lycoming events and experience the music, talent, and excitement firsthand. We can’t wait to see you there! 🎵

We are pleased to invite piano students ages 11-18 to apply to the Lycoming College Piano Institute, happening for the first time at Lycoming College this summer! It will take place July 27-31, 2026 with options for students to apply for the Traditional (12-5pm) or Advanced Session (12-8pm). Students will receive lessons and masterclasses with Lycoming College faculty and guest artists and will have the opportunity to participate in keyboard ensemble playing and a variety of workshops. The application fee is waived until March 31! 🎶

**EVENT RESCHEDULED! Please note the new date of April 16th in Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall**

Please join us for a special guest lecture, “Exploring the Transformative and Healing Power of Music: A Discussion of the Art and Science of Music Therapy.” The talk will explore how music therapy integrates scientific research with clinical practice to support healing and well-being.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Lisa Gallagher, is a clinical music therapist, researcher, and educator. She founded the music therapy program at Cleveland Clinic and currently serves as Research Program Manager for the Arts & Medicine Department. During her talk, Dr. Gallagher will highlight the current state of music therapy research while sharing real-world clinical examples that demonstrate the powerful role music can play in healthcare.

We hope you will join us for this engaging discussion about the intersection of music, science, and healing. This event free and open to the public!

Join us in the Trachte Music Center for an enjoyable evening concert performed by the Lycoming College Concert Band. Admission is free and open to the public.

🎶Concert at Noon: Scherzo! A Faculty Recital - Thursday, March 5 at 12:00PM - Shangraw Performance Hall, Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall

Shake off the winter blues with Scherzo!, a lighthearted and fun noon recital presented by the Music Department faculty. Bursting with playful energy and joyful music, this concert is the perfect midday escape. Join us on March 5 at noon in Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall for an uplifting musical break. Admission is free, and refreshments will be available—bring a friend and enjoy a bright spot in your day!
