Tomorrow, we come together to remember.

Please join the Eastern community on Friday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. in the Fine Arts Instructional Center Amphitheatre as we mark 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

2,977 flags now line the hillside, each representing a life lost on September 11.

Our ceremony will include remarks, a moment of silence, a performance by the Eastern Chamber Singers, and the reading of the names of those who died.

All students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the surrounding community are welcome.

Join us as we remember the lives lost, honor those who responded, and reflect together as a community.

Thank you to the faculty, staff and student leaders who helped make New Student Convocation such a special beginning for the Class of 2030 and our transfer students.

We are grateful to President Karim Ismaili, Provost Cheryl Wilson, Dr. LaMar Coleman, Dr. Jennifer Leszczynski, Dean Kemesha Wilmot and Senior Class President Emily Jones ’27 for sharing their wisdom, encouragement and Eastern pride with our newest Warriors. And a special thank you to Ethan Sirard ’29 for his performance of “Go the Distance.”

As our newest students begin their Eastern journeys, we hope they carry with them the messages shared at Convocation: make memories, embrace the opportunities around you, support one another and become the best version of yourself.
