Roller skates, Greek muses and some seriously iconic music? Sounds like Xanadu. 🎶

Wilmington College/Community Summer Theatre is bringing the Tony-nominated musical comedy to Heiland Theatre this July. Featuring hit songs made famous by Electric Light Orchestra and Olivia Newton-John, Xanadu is a fun, energetic show packed with laughs, music and plenty of 1980s flair.

Another unforgettable high-impact learning experience. 🇬🇧✈️

Recently, a group of Wilmington College students traveled through England and Scotland, spending 10 days exploring historic cities, iconic landmarks and new cultures.

The journey included time in London, Bath, York and Edinburgh, along with visits to sites such as Stonehenge, Edinburgh Castle and the Tower of London. Along the way, students experienced local traditions, connected with one another and gained a deeper understanding of the history and culture that shape these communities.

The group returned home with new perspectives, new memories and a few more passport stamps. ✈️💚

Summer Spotlight ✨

Wilmington College Class of 2026 graduate Bradley Brown is spending his summer at the Asian Rural Institute in Tochigi, Japan, completing a two-month intensive internship alongside agricultural leaders and participants from around the world.

During his first two weeks, Bradley has already experienced rice transplanting, community celebrations and plenty of hands-on learning while living and working in a collaborative agricultural community.

"Working and living with rural leaders across the world has been an amazing experience," Bradley shared. "The work itself is very hands on, allowing me to learn alongside everyone in this communal space."

We're excited to follow Bradley's journey and see all he learns in the weeks ahead. 🇯🇵

Another unforgettable high-impact experience. 🇯🇵💚

Recently, a group of Wilmington College students, faculty and staff spent 11 days exploring Japan, experiencing its history, culture and daily life firsthand.

Their journey included visits to major cities, historic shrines, temples and castles, a Tokyo Giants baseball game, cultural performances and even a chance to enjoy dinner in traditional yukata robes.

A wonderful experience filled with meaningful moments and unforgettable memories!

Wilmington College has received another Choose Ohio First grant, bringing new scholarship opportunities to future students pursuing STEM fields 💚🔬

The $150,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education will support students entering programs such as data science, math education, agronomy and health science beginning in fall 2027.

This investment helps expand access to high-demand career paths while strengthening Ohio’s workforce in areas that matter deeply to rural communities and southwest Ohio. It also continues Wilmington College’s commitment to creating opportunities for first-generation students and other underrepresented populations in STEM.

Hands-on learning, strong mentorship and meaningful career preparation continue to be at the heart of the Wilmington experience, and this grant helps even more students take that next step. 🌿
