Carolina Rodriguez was a special guest lecturer for Ms. Eaton’s EVS 495 class last month, and she shared her unique and inspiring career journey working with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua and Mexico. Her talk highlighted a slightly less conventional path within the environmental and marine sciences fields.
During the lecture, she provided background on the Peace Corps, discussed her coastal conservation work in Mexico, shared her environmental education efforts in Nicaragua,
and offered insights into Mexican culture.

🏆🏆🏆The UNCW EVS Department is proud to announce that EVS Administrative Associate Suzanne Mullins was one of three College of Science and Engineering staff to receive a CSE Staff Excellence Award! These awards and many others were presented last month at the CSE Dean’s List Celebration. The event was held to honor CSE faculty and staff for their achievements in teaching, research, and service to the entire university community. The CSE Staff Excellence Awards celebrate staff for their distinguished work to advance the College’s mission, and recognizes staff for their outstanding service and leadership. Each recipient is awarded $1,000 for professional development, and a nomination letter is submitted on their behalf to identify ways that their work reflects the CSE Mission and Core Values. Congratulations to Suzanne for a well-deserved accolade!🏆🏆🏆
