Before assuming the role as president of Wilmington College, I was a professor running a coffee roastery on the side.

Yes, it was a lot. But it was also where I learned some of the most important lessons about grit, purpose, and possibility.

Our purpose isn’t always tied to a job title—it can come from the risks we take and the passions we pursue.

So to students or professionals who feel like they’re walking an unconventional path: keep going.

It might just lead you somewhere incredible.
