Big congratulations to Isabel Garcia, Valedictorian for the IBEC Class of 2026! Isabel earned 2nd place in Microbiology at the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix this May. She also made history as the first NC Science & Engineering Fair student selected as an ISEF finalist all four years of high school.

Bonjour from Paris! 12 WCE students joined Laura Szech & Courtney Townsend for a May study abroad experience that combined teaching, learning & culture. Students taught English lessons at a local elementary school, visited Sorbonne University’s INSPÉ teacher training institute, & explored Paris through museums, food tours, a Seine cruise, the Eiffel Tower and even a pastry class!

Macy, an English major pursuing secondary ed licensure, will intern with the NC Department of Natural & Cultural Resources. Tyaira, a student in WCE’s Leadership, Policy, & Advocacy in Early Childhood program, will intern with the NC Department of Administration. We’re proud of both of you!
