Avery Riedel, Augusta, and Joseph Kasongo, Lubumbashi, D.R. Congo, received the Fran Jabara Award at Southwestern College Commencement exercises Sunday, May 10.

“We honor these two Moundbuilders who have demonstrated the spirit of leadership during their time as students, exemplified in the life of the man who instituted this award. Two students who have truly been leaders during their college years, who have made our campus stronger through their presence, and we know will serve the communities they call home with dedication and grace,” said Southwestern College President Liz Frombgen.

Given the forecasted rain and cool temperatures, the Inclement Weather Plan has been implemented. Commencement will be held in Stewart Field House at 2:30 p.m.

Graduates will line up in the lower level of Stewart Field House at 1:30 p.m.

Graduates may also direct up to six guests to Stewart Field House for the ceremony. Stewart Field House Doors will open for guests at 1:30 p.m.

Overflow seating is available at Richardson Performing Arts Center where the ceremony will be simulcast. RPAC may provide a more comfortable environment for those with limited mobility.
