What a wonderful evening in Charlotte with our Wingate alumni community! 💙

Yesterday, President Brown had the opportunity to connect with alumni from across the area as Bulldogs gathered to reconnect, share memories, build new relationships, and celebrate the Wingate spirit together.

Events like these are a reminder that the Wingate community extends far beyond campus and continues long after graduation. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special! ✨

Class of 2026 spotlight✨✨

In Down Yenagoa, in the southern Nigerian state of Bayelsa, few people go on to attend college. Bethel Ekperigha and her eight siblings felt lucky to go to school at all.

Ekperigha managed to ace the tests, but the rest of the time she would help with the farming, play with her siblings, study class notes borrowed from friends, and, increasingly, play basketball.

Ekperigha is one of 443 students who will receive diplomas on Saturday during undergraduate commencement. The ceremony starts at 9 a.m. in the Academic Quad.

Class of 2026 Spotlight✨

The key to being a good social worker, says Doralisa Pellane, is simple: be a good listener, and put yourself in the client’s shoes.

Luckily for the Union County Department of Social Services, Pellane does those things well, and on Friday she will be one step closer to becoming a social worker after she receives her master of social work degree from Wingate.
