All classes are interactive and students should be prepared to contribute at many levels throughout their time with us. Learning to work in a group dynamic prepares you for organizational and patient situations in your career. We encourage questions and participation now so that you’ll be ready to interact meaningfully in your work. Wingate offers the PA program on two campuses one located in Wingate, NC and the other in Hendersonville, NC.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 for obtaining a 97% first-time PANCE pass rate! And for exceeding the national average of 91%! The Wingate PA faculty and staff are very proud of our students and their success in becoming PA-C's. Since its inception, our program has achieved a 100% PANCE pass rate, meaning every one of our graduates has passed the PANCE on their first or subsequent attempt. A huge thank you to our faculty who educate our students, and our clinical partners who train our students!

Class of 2027 students have been in full-time study mode, preparing for their last cumulative final exam tomorrow. Good luck to all students! We know you've done well so far!

Wingate PA students had an exciting and busy day this past Friday! Our Hendersonville clinical students and Blue Ridge Community College 2nd year nursing students participated in an Interprofessional Education Simulation. Students work independently at various stations where life-like healthcare situations are simulated. Students were assigned to stations, such as OR, ED, surgery, ICU, or urgent care, to care for mock patients who had been assigned symptoms and "injuries." Students then had to evaluate the patients and work together to develop a treatment plan. Wingate faculty, Dr. Nicole Drake and Dr. Taylor Fischer, and Blue Ridge faculty observed and helped facilitate the event, ensuring students were learning proper procedures. Students were fortunate to have several Wingate clinical preceptors helping also! A huge thank you to UNC Health Pardee for sponsoring lunch and The Greens of Hendersonville for sponsoring breakfast. Just another day of training the future providers in our community!

One Day One Dog 2026 was a successful day of giving back to our communities! Each spring, the University cancels all classes on one day so students, faculty, and staff can participate in various service projects. This year, the WUPA Class of 2027 participated in working with seniors at assisted living facilities and cleaning up at a healing farm. The Wingate campus students spent the day at multiple senior assisted living facilities playing bingo and other games, crafts, coloring, and even celebrated a birthday with a resident. Wingate students also handed out WUPA swag to the seniors. The Hendersonville campus students spent the day at the Veterans Healing Farm planting, raking, and cleaning up from recent ice and rain storms. Giving back is an important part of WUPA! A big thank you to all who participated in One Day One Dog!

Wingate PA faculty and staff were excited to meet our incoming cohort, Class of 2028, at the open house celebration this past Friday evening. Class of 2028 students were invited to visit their respective campus, Wingate or Hendersonville, and to meet faculty, staff and current students. We are thankful 36 students took time out of their busy schedule to attend this event, including students who traveled from FL, NJ, and WV! The evening included tours, refreshments, WUPA swag, a Q&A with current students, and an overview of the didactic and clinical phases. Of course, the best part was the opportunity for the Class of 2028 to meet each other in person before August matriculation. And congratulations to Makaylie Moore and Makinzi Casto for winning the stethoscope give-a-way raffle! Also a big thank you to the faculty and current students who graciously spent their Friday evening with WUPA!

How 'bout them Dawgs! Wingate Bulldogs? Well, yes . . . and no! Dr. Nicole Drake and Susan Lance, Hendersonville PA admissions coordinator, attended the UGA Health Professions fair this week to promote the PA program and meet prospective applicants. The event was very well attended overall, with more than 30 students stopping by the Wingate table to learn more about WUPA. We appreciate UGA for inviting us to participate!

Give a warm welcome to our newest team member, Prints Albert I, a FlashForge Guider III Ultra 3D printer. Prints Albert boasts an impressive print speed and large build volume that will provide more complex and larger models. Students will benefit from the realistic task trainers that His Majesty will make for years to come. No one is more excited about this addition than Dr. Taylor Fischer, task trainer creator extraordinaire! We predict Dr. Fischer will be spending more time in his lab in the future!
