SWAG at Rollins College

SWAG studies at Rollins College seeks to develop knowledge about how experience, history, and status in society is effected by our society's gender roles.

Sexuality, Women, and Gender Studies promotes the inclusion of gender’s effect on both sexuality and women as a vital part of the academic curriculum. S.W.A.G. Studies courses explore not only women’s history, personal and political experiences, contributions, and status in society; but also the LGBTIQQA community’s history, personal and political contributions, and status in society. The S.W.A.G.

Studies Minor combines courses in a broad variety of departments (Philosophy and Religion, English, Political Science, Education, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Art History, Economics, and others). The multidisciplinary approach of the program brings a critical perspective to cultural forces that have framed assumptions about the nature of gender and sexuality as social groups. Students emerge with refined critical thinking skills, an interdisciplinary understanding of the role of gender issues in society, and experience working as volunteers and interns in local and international communities.

Great to give a talk at the school of Gender and Development Studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University in Delhi. It was nice to interact with faculty and students to get a more global perspective on gender issues. 🌏
