HAPPY FOUNDERS' DAY!

November 12th marks the 97th year of the founding of our illustrious sisterhood, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The seven visionary women whose insight to conceive and whose vision to create this dynamic organization are worthy of our recognition and sincere gratitude! Commitment to our motto, “Greater Service, Greater Progress” was the pinnacle of our Seven Pearls, who established the foundation of sisterhood, scholarship, and service that we continue to build today.

We are building a sisterhood for the future. We must always be intentional, impactful, and measurable in all we do! Happy Founders’ Day!

Today is the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day. Started in 1988, this annual observance highlights worldwide efforts to combat HIV/AIDS. World AIDS Day serves as a way to show support for those living with HIV as well as remembering those who have died as a result of the infection. Even today HIV remains a global health threat. In 2017, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported that more than 36.9 million people were living with HIV. They also estimated that 940,000 people died from AIDS-related illnesses. About 1.8 million people were newly infected with HIV. Know your status and continue focusing on raising awareness.
