UVA Wise Library

UVA Wise Library The library for UVA's College at Wise. Our primary purpose is to provide support for our College Curriculum.

To do this we maintain a collection of over 150,000 physical volumes, over 700 periodical subscriptions and many electronic books and databases.

Join the UVA Wise Library staff and share your thoughts on sensory spaces in the Library! All participants will receive a fidget object and be entered to win a gift card. Must be present at the drawing (end of conversation) to win.

The UVA Wise Library won a $10,000 grant from the American Library Association (ALA) and the Association for Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL). With it, we will improve the accessibility for neurodivergent students. Whether a student has anxiety, sensory sensitivities, Autism, or ADHD, the Library aims to be an accessible and comfortable space for all.

🎉 Big congratulations to the Library's very own Teddy Boatman!

We’re so proud to share that Teddy has been awarded the Heather Markusich Scholarship and the Glenn Blackburn Scholarship for Intellectual History & Philosophy! Not only that, but she was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta! 📜✨

Her hard work and love of learning truly shine through, both in the classroom and here in the library.

The UVA Wise Library is one of 300 libraries to participate in the fourth and final round of Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association (ALA) initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities.

The competitive award comes with a $10,000 grant that will help the library add sensory-friendly study spaces in the library and sensory bags for checkout.
