We're halfway through National Coming Out Week at Woodland Community College!!!

Today the Association of Human Services Students together with LGBTQ Alliance will be conducting a Safe Zone! Training for the WCC community members (students/staff/adjunct/faculty). Don't know what a Safe Zone! is? Stop by the training TODAY at 12:00pm in the WCC Community Room (RM 800).

We have the room set up with tables, so feel free to bring your lunch while you enjoy the presentation!

National Coming Out Week continues!!! Today we are holding an LGBTQ Forum along with LGBTQ Alliance at 12:00pm in the Commmunity Room.

Do you identify as LGBTQ?

Are you a supporter of the LGBTQ community?

Then come to the LGBTQ Forum and express your thoughts and ideas, and voice any concerns you may have.

We want to know how you feel, and would like to hear what you you would like to see here on our campus as it relates to our LGBTQ student population!

National Coming Out Week kicks off TODAY!!! Make sure to come and catch the second installment of Dr. David Nylund's presentation on Gender Identity and Gender Expression at 12:00pm in the Community Room at Woodland Community College.

Dr. David Nylund is currently the clinical director at the Gender Health Center, and has over 25 years of clinical experience working in many contexts including community mental health, non-profit agencies, managed care settings, and private practice. Dr. Nylund is an associate professor of Social Work at California State University, Sacramento and the former clinical director of the Sacramento Gay and Le***an Center’s counseling program. He is an expert on transgender mental health care and is a full-standing member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

HEY HEY EVERYONE! Remember AHSS and LGBTQ Alliance of WCC are celebrating National Coming Out Week at Woodland Community College starting this Monday 10/07/13 with a series of LGBTQ-friendly events!

Monday: Dr. David Nylund, LCSW, Ph.D. continues his presentation on Gender Identity and Gender expression from the Spring 2013 semester. A MUST SEE!!!!

Tuesday: LGBTQ Forum - The LGBTQ Alliance will facilitate a forum for all WCC LGBTQ identified students and their supporters to get feedback on what services and programs they would like to see implemented at WCC. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

Wednesday: SafeZone! Training - AHSS will facilitate this training for all WCC community members on how to create a safe space for LGBTQ students to express themselves and talk about their issues.

Thursday: SafeZone! Training - LGBTQ Alliance will facilitate this training for all WCC community members on how to create a safe space for LGBTQ students to express themselves and talk about their issues.

All events will take place at Woodland Community College's Community Room (RM 800) from 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Everyone is encouraged to attend!
Faculty and Staff of WCC - The events on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday will all count towards FLEX hours.
