As the year comes to an end, we'd like to thank our Chapter members and the Clark University Psychology department for their support in helping us have one of our most successful years yet! Our e-board won the Kay Wilson Officer Team Leadership Award, increased our Spring membership by 325%, and launched a total of 23 events in the academic year.
We would like to acknowledge the wonderful individuals that committed to our team 100%, worked hard, and made this amazing year possible:
Our Publicity Coordinator, Cindy Mohnblatt Bronstein, completed a year-long internship at Clark's Center for Conseling and Personal Growth, and plans to work in higher education before pursuing a Master's degree in non-profit management.
Our Vice President, Jacob Kahn, received High Honors for his honors thesis, which he conducted with the help of the Wapner Undergraduate Research Grant, and has been awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate in Psychology award as well as membership to Gryphon and Pleiades. In the coming year, Jacob will pursue his Masters of Arts in Teaching at Clark University.
Our President, Despoina Lioliou, was awarded Psi Chi's Regional Research Award (East) as well as Clark's Outstanding Undergraduate in Psychology award, and joined Phi Beta Kappa this spring. In the fall, she will pursue her Master's in Education at Harvard University.
Our Events Coordinator - and 2017-18 President - Sherief Eldeeb, will pursue his honors thesis as a Steinbrecher Fellow, conduct summer research as a LEEP fellow, and will be one of the twelve Gryphon and Pleiades members in the following year. He was also recently published at Clark's Scholarly Undergraduate Research Journal (SURJ).
Our Secretary, Türkü Hastürk, received the Chandler Bailey Economics Internship Award to jump-start her research, was awarded High Honors for her honors thesis in economics, and joined Phi Beta Kappa this spring. In the following years, she hopes to pursue a Ph.D in Economics.
Our Treasurer, Fatima Zavala Ruiz, received Highest Honors for her honors thesis, which she conducted through the Herman A. Witkin Memorial Fellowship and Steinbrecher Fellowship. She was also awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate in Psychology award and joined Phi Beta Kappa this spring. She hopes to pursue a Master's in Social Work in the near future.
We are excited to see what this power team will do next! Congratulations again to the succeeding 2017-18 e-board, and we wish a fruitful year to our members who are continuing their studies at Clark!
Best wishes and much love,
The 2016-2017 Clark Psi Chi E-Board
