WPI was founded just after the Civil War, a time when America was on the brink of a great period of industrial growth and technological innovation. WPI’s SailBot team captured 1st place at the 18th Annual International Robotic Sailing Regatta, earning the program’s fifth championship and becoming the winningest team in regatta history. Competing against teams from around the world, WPI students dominated with first-place finishes in five events, showcasing the power of autonomous systems, teamwork, and immersive project-based learning.
