Clark University is launching a new Executive Doctor of Geospatial Leadership (DGEO), the first professional doctorate of its kind in the geospatial sector.
Today, Dean Lou Leonard announced the program at the World Geospatial Industry Council Horizons conference in London, on stage with Aaron Addison, John Wilson of the University of Southern California, and Mark Coates of Bentley Systems. Developed in collaboration with WGIC, the program is designed for working professionals ready to lead at the executive level.
Whether it’s monitoring where food is sourced or predicting which neighborhoods will flood during a storm, geospatial technology is the data engine behind the modern world, proving that nearly every critical decision we face today comes down to understanding the data of “where."
As a generation of founding leaders steps back, the sector faces a widening leadership gap with no clear pipeline to replace them. DGEO is designed to close that gap by preparing credentialed, future‑ready executives at a pivotal moment for the industry.
