Every spring, students move out of the residence halls at the end of the semester, and many leave items behind that they no longer want or need. Penn State Berks Residence Life has found a way to make good use of these items by donating them to Opportunity House, an emergency shelter located in Reading. We have exciting news: Penn State Berks has been named to the prestigious Carnegie Opportunity Colleges and Universities – High Access, High Earnings Classification. This classification is Carnegie's highest designation recognizing colleges and universities that facilitate social and economic mobility, and only 16% of institutions evaluated for the designation met the criteria. We were delighted to welcome 240 middle school students and their chaperones from 15 Berks County schools to our annual Careers with Math Options conference a couple weeks ago. The students explored our beautiful campus while participating in engaging activities and learning from the many talented presenters and volunteers who made Penn State Berks so incredible. Thank you to our student panelists and keynote speaker Lorena Tribe, professor of chemistry, for inspiring our visitors. 💙🤍🐾

: Today we're thinking back to our students' Alternative Spring Break trip to the Seattle, Washington area, where they worked with members of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe on conservation efforts and with Sound Salmon Solutions on efforts to help restore and protect waterways. The trip included students from Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg, and Penn State Lehigh Valley, and they shared some incredible photos from their journey. Proudly introducing the Class of 2026! We are so proud to celebrate the newest and largest-ever cohort of Penn State Berks graduates, who earned their degrees this past Saturday, May 9, at the Santander Arena. We are so proud of their hard work, perseverance, and dedication, and we know they will go on to do incredible things. We are so grateful to have been a part of your journey, Penn Staters! 💙🤍🐾

Senior biochemistry and molecular biology major Nathan Tam took advantage of every opportunity available to him at Penn State Berks, and tomorrow, this highly involved student will graduate not only with a bachelor's degree, but also a master's degree in applied statistics from Penn State World Campus. U.S. Marine veteran Elizabeth Heffron always wanted to enlist in the military, and a career in the criminal justice field just seemed to make sense after her discharge. On Saturday, this wife, mother, and veteran will earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychological science. This Saturday, Cohen-Hammel Fellow Mark Longenberger will earn not only a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State Berks, but also a master's degree in applied statistics from Penn State World Campus. This award-winning student entered his college career with 56 credits he earned through A.P. courses, and we can't wait to see what he does next!
