Plumbing class understood the assignment.

This week, our YTI York Plumbing students were learning all about venting in drain, waste and vent (DWV) plumbing systems — then it was time to put that knowledge to work.

The challenge? Build an island fixture vent and get graded on the finished project.
For their FIRST time working with PVC pipe, primer and glue… they crushed it.
Because sometimes the best way to learn is to get hands-on and build it yourself.

Nice work, future plumbing pros!

Building connections right here at YTI York!
Our awesome High School Representative Cindy recently welcomed three counselors from Dover High School to our YTI York Campus for a behind-the-scenes tour!
They explored the campus, learned more about our career training programs, and the conversation quickly turned into some exciting future partnership opportunities!
We love connecting with local schools and helping students explore what their next step after high school could look like.

Plumbing class took learning OUT of the classroom!
Our YTI York Plumbing students recently toured The York Water Company’s filter plant at Reservoir Park to see firsthand how raw water becomes clean drinking water.
From filtration systems and the onsite lab to learning how water is reclaimed and reused, students got a behind-the-scenes look at the systems that help keep our communities running.
A huge thank you to Devon Heffley, Assistant Filter Plant Superintendent, and The York Water Company for giving our students this awesome real-world learning experience!
And there’s more to come—the class is looking forward to future tours to learn even more about water collection and wastewater treatment.
