Tau Kappa Epsilon has thrived as a strong and productive social organization at York College of Pennsylvania since 1977. With the help of the Shippensburg University Chapter of TKE, Lenny Jascak founded the chapter and became the first president of Omicron Upsilon. We are the oldest national fraternity on campus and continue a history of success with aggressive rushing and a brotherhood like no ot

her. Besides helping college men expand their horizons and reach their goals of attaining qualities such as leadership, lifelong friendships, and teamwork, we also give back to the community through many activities. TKE OY strongly supports the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Alzheimer foundation through various philanthropy events throughout the year. Also, we participate in adopt-a-block neighborhood clean ups. We participate in activities such as intramurals and Greek Week and are active in many other organizations on campus including Residential Life, WVYC Radio Station, Orientation Leaders and Move In Team.

Thank you to DiDi & Smiling John's Traditional Barber Shop & Salon for helping us raise money a few weeks back for our national philanthropy, St. Judes Children's Research Hospital. They offered to donate proceeds of every haircut to the Omicron Upsilon chapter in our overall fundraising efforts.

We were able to raise close to $200, and many York College students now have a barbershop away from home where they can comfortably get their haircut which is in walking distance of the college.

Thank you to DiDi & Smiling John's Traditional Barber Shop & Salon for the fundraising opportunity, and ABC27 News for giving us the opportunity to talk about the impact that our chapter and other TKE chapters have when it comes to raising money for childhood cancer.

We had a very surprise turnout at our Alumni BBQ this past Saturday. Our brothers had the pleasure of meeting some TKE Alumni from our chapter that we never have met before! Including some of the first initiates into our chapter.

We appreciate the generous donations and hope you enjoyed grabbing a burger and chatting with some of us.

We want to thank everyone who made it out to DiDi & Smiling John's Traditional Barber Shop & Salon yesterday. Your choice of going to Didi and Smiling Johns helped raise money for our national philanthropy, St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.

If you were not able to stop in yesterday, please stop in today! The fundraiser will be going on today as well! All you have to do is mention St. Judes or Tau Kappa Epsilon during your haircut and they will donate $5 to children's cancer research!

The chapter will be hosting a philanthropy event to raise funds for St. Jude’s with a local barbershop, Didi & Smiling John’s, at the end of this month on 9/26 and 9/27. The barbers have all agreed that on these two dates, $5 of every haircut will be donated back towards the chapter’s philanthropy efforts.

While our primary target is college students, $5 of EVERY haircut will be donated so the more people we can get to the shop the better! For anybody local, this may be a great opportunity to fix up that hairline, get your beard trimmed, or simply spread the word to friends/family in the area who might stop in. Not only will you be freshening up for the start of Fall, but you will be helping the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon in their philanthropic efforts to raise money for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital

The chapter appreciates any and all help in promoting our event with your York County friends and family. Hopefully, this event goes well and we’re able to make it an annual one.

A few weeks ago, the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon and the sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma at York College of Pennsylvania co-hosted a philanthropy event on campus where each chapter raised money for two different philanthropic organizations.

TKE was able to donate over $125 to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital and Phi Sig was able to donate over $125 to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation collectively from the event. Way to go!

Fun Fact: The founder of St. Judes Children's Research Hospital was Danny Thomas, a brother of Tau Kappa Epsilon.

In 1971, Memorial Day was declared a national holiday, it was formerly known as Decoration day. Memorial day is recognized on the last Monday of every May. On this day we commemorate all men and women, who have died in Military service for the United States. Everyday brave citizens of the United States risk their lives overseas, to protect the lives of others. Those who dedicate their time and life to the service deserve to be recognized each and every day. If you see a Veteran today, be sure to say hello and thank them for all they do in their individual efforts to protect the origin and values of our country. The Omicron Upsilon chapter of TKE with pride, wants to thank all Veterans that have taken a piece out of their life, to add extra pieces to our lives.

The Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association is a certified non-profit that operates as a membership-based, mission-driven organization. "We are dedicated to improving and protecting the ecological integrity of the Susquehanna Watershed and Chesapeake Bay". A few weeks back, three of our brothers spent their Sunday morning volunteering to make a difference in the surrounding community, and meeting with Ted Evgeniadis - Riverkeeper. Ted took the time out of his Sunday morning to talk to our brothers about what the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association is about and what they offer to residents in our area to volunteer their time and take part in Community Service that makes an in impact on several groups of people. Our brothers are looking forward to spending time with Ted Evgeniadis - Riverkeeper, and other volunteers for the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association this summer and making a difference for people in the York Community. Be sure to check out the Riverkeeper Association's 7th Annual Susquehanna Biathlon, the date is set for June 24th, 2017.

Pictured here are three of our four Spring 2017 graduates. In the first photo is Devin Morris, a Mass Communications Graduate from Maryland. Chris Edelen is pictured in the second photo, a Criminal Justice Graduate, also from Maryland. Last but not least, pictured is Andrew Rizziello. Andrew is a Supply Chain Operations Management Graduate from New Jersey. John Ecert is our last graduating Senior, he is a Computer Information Systems Graduate from New Jersey. During their time at York College and in Tau Kappa Epsilon, they have devoted several hours working on Tau Kappa Epsilon Eboard, spending time in the York Community, and making a difference on the York College of Pennsylvania campus. It is sad to see our graduates go, but we know they will be making a positive and meaningful impact in all of their future endeavors.
