History M.A. graduate, Lynda Ozan, Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer for the Oklahoma Historical Society, recently published a new paper, "The Preservation of the Threatt Filling Station."
The paper explores the history of Route 66 during the Jim Crow-era where rest stops were segregated and specifically, the Threatt Filling Station in Luther, Oklahoma, one of the few Black rest stops on Route 66, and the family's preservation of the building.
