PHAN CHAU TRINH UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY HOSPITAL APPLIES REGENERATIVE MEDICINE, EXPANDING MINIMALLY INVASIVE TREATMENT OPTIONS
Phan Chau Trinh University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (PCTU) has recently implemented a range of advanced techniques under its Regenerative Medicine Unit, expanding treatment options with minimally invasive approaches that combine modern technology and biological therapies.
In the field of musculoskeletal medicine, therapies such as autologous adipose-derived stem cells and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) are being applied to treat osteoarthritis and certain soft tissue conditions around the joints.
These methods primarily involve injection or micro-intervention techniques aimed at regenerating damaged tissues, improving mobility, reducing chronic pain, and shortening recovery time compared to traditional surgery.
In dermatology, the unit offers a wide range of treatments from basic to advanced. Cryotherapy using liquid nitrogen is applied to treat warts, nodules, keloids, and papillomas.
Among high-tech treatments, CO₂ laser and fractional laser are used to address various skin conditions such as skin tags, hyperkeratosis, atrophic scars, wrinkles, and signs of aging.
Additionally, biological therapies such as PRP continue to be used for treating acne scars and skin rejuvenation. Microneedling combined with topical medications helps improve pigmentation issues like melasma and freckles, while also supporting treatment for hair loss, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
Other specialized indications include Triamcinolone injections for keloid treatment, subcutaneous injections for hair loss, and TCA application for atrophic scars.
The unit also performs procedures such as skin biopsies for diagnostic purposes, and surgical treatments for ingrown or curved nails, contributing to a comprehensive care and treatment process.
The simultaneous implementation of these techniques allows for personalized treatment plans, flexibly combining technology and biological therapies tailored to each specific condition.
As the demand for healthcare and aesthetic services continues to grow—especially for minimally invasive methods with fast recovery—regenerative medicine is becoming a key trend in many healthcare institutions. Strategic investment in this field is expected to enhance treatment quality and expand access to modern medical services for people in the Central region of Vietnam.
