Officially returning for 2026, the Global Citizen Debate Challenge (GCDC) continues to provide a dynamic academic playground for high school students and first-year university students across Vietnam who are passionate about debate, critical thinking, and global issues.

🌍Organized annually since 2021 by Swinburne Vietnam, Asia University Vietnam, and Finland Metropolia Vietnam, GCDC has become one of the most exciting nationwide English debate competitions, bringing together talented young debaters from all over the country.

🌍Through GCDC 2026, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Develop critical thinking, research, and argumentation skills
- Strengthen academic English and public speaking confidence
- Experience professional debate training sessions and competition rounds
- Connect with a vibrant nationwide debate community

Total prizes include:
🥇 Champion: 20,000,000 VND in cash + 80% scholarship
🥈 1st Runner-up: 8,000,000 VND in cash + 60% scholarship
🥉 2nd Runner-up: 5,000,000 VND in cash + 50% scholarship

Hi everyone! I’m Minh Anh, an International Business student from Swinburne Vietnam. I’m currently challenging myself as a Business Analysis (BA) Intern at Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company (Phu Quoc POC), the operator of the major national gas project at Blocks B, 48/95 and 52/97.

💫 Stepping into a BA role as an IB student was a bold move. Since my freshman year, I’ve never hesitated to try "cross-industry" subjects to discover my hidden strengths and areas for improvement.
I used to feel a bit insecure because I didn't have outstanding academic records, but my early exposure to professional work environments and a bit of luck helped me stand out. The moment I received the offer email, I truly couldn’t believe I had made it.

💫 Swinburne played a vital role in this milestone, not just through career workshops or CV editing sessions, but through the immense personal support I received. I especially want to thank the staff for helping me process my documents "at lightning speed" so I could secure this internship on time. Beside that, my professors also gave me a clear perspective of the industry through their real-world stories.

I believe that if a door closes, it's just a sign to keep looking for a place where you can truly belong. Stay persistent and stay true to yourself, because the right opportunity is always out there waiting for you.
