Telling Our Story
SOMIA- Somali Institute of Agriculture is non-profit educational institution based in Mogadishu, Somalia founded by agricultural professionals with the inspiration of transferring agricultural knowledge and technology through modern teaching and research.
SOMIA is the first agricultural institute opened in Mogadishu since the collapse of Somalis former central government. SOMIA was established due to the fast gap of agricultural knowledge and skill in the country and also to be a platform for agricultural students to get a place where they can find supportive studies for their university educations.
SOMIA’sagricultural education is primarily undertaken to prepare students for employment in the agricultural sector and to gain skills in the agricultural environment
