Eid-el-Fitr: Federal Polytechnic Idah Rector Urges Muslims to Uphold Ramadan Values Beyond Celebration

As Muslims across the country mark the end of Ramadan, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman, has called on the faithful to carry forward the spiritual gains of the holy month into their everyday lives.

The Rector in a goodwill message delivered through the Deputy Registrar and Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. S. S. Omale, emphasized that Eid-el-Fitr should go beyond celebration to a period of renewed commitment to faith, discipline, and moral responsibility.

He noted that Ramadan offers lessons in self-restraint, compassion, and devotion, stressing that these virtues must not be abandoned after the fasting period.

Dr. Usman urged Muslims to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his messages of peace, love, and harmonious coexistence, which he described as critical to building a stable and united society.

According to him, the true essence of Eid lies in sustained acts of kindness, tolerance, and good neighbourliness, rather than mere festivities and social excitement.

The Rector further encouraged Muslims to serve as ambassadors of Islam through exemplary character, adding that positive conduct remains the most effective way to promote the true image of the religion.

He also reaffirmed his dedication to the advancement of Federal Polytechnic, Idah, while calling on Nigerians to embrace unity, prayer, and collective responsibility toward national peace, security, and economic growth.

RECTOR GRACIOUSLY ENGAGES AND EMPOWERS LADY FOLLOWING CAMPUS INCIDENT

As a follow up to the earlier press release issued by the Management of the Federal Polytechnic Idah concerning the viral video incident on campus, the Management wishes to further inform the public of a significant development.

The lady involved in the incident, Miss Eleojo, was invited for an interaction with the Rector, Dr. Y. B. Usman. During the engagement, it became evident that she possesses vocational skills in pedicure, manicure, and event decoration.

In demonstration of compassionate leadership and a strong commitment to youth empowerment, the Rector graciously approved her engagement under the institution’s Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC). This opportunity is intended to help her productively utilize her skills, develop herself economically, and pursue a more meaningful and structured path toward personal growth.

This gesture reflects the institution’s belief not only in maintaining discipline but also in extending support and empowerment where necessary.

A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS, CONGRATULATIONS DEAR NDI & HNDI STUDENTS!

On this special occasion of your matriculation, We the entire Federal Polytechnic Idah Media Team warmly congratulate all newly admitted students of Federal Polytechnic Idah, Kogi State.

Today, you have taken the oath and officially become bona fide students of this great institution. This is not just a ceremony, it is the beginning of a new chapter in your life. Celebrate it, because not everyone who sat for JAMB last year was privileged to gain admission. You were chosen, and that alone is worth gratitude and joy.

You are about to embark on a two year journey filled with learning, growth, challenges, determination, and success. Make your education your primary assignment. Everything else should be secondary.

Yes, campus life comes with many attractions like parties, social gatherings, excessive outings, and even overcommitment to activities (Fellowship and others) that may distract you. While these are part of the experience, they must never replace your purpose. “Discipline is choosing what you want most over what you want now.”

Remember: “Not everyone who matriculates today will graduate or convocate at the same time"

Some may face carryovers, some may withdraw, some may repeat levels, some may quit and sadly, life itself may interrupt some journeys. But we pray for success, strength, and completion for you all. Stay focused. Stay determined. Stay prayerful.

Those who graduated before you did not have two heads, they simply had focus, resilience, and determination. You too can succeed. “Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.”

To Our HND I Students

Congratulations on moving to a higher level. Welcome to a more demanding phase of your academic journey. HND is tougher than ND. It requires deeper commitment and stronger determination. This is the stage where excellence truly matters.

Many students say, “Result na result, even if na pass, I thank God.” But the truth is, in today’s competitive world, a mere pass can limit opportunities; Good is not enough when better is possible. “Excellence opens doors that average effort cannot". Push yourself beyond the minimum. Aim higher. Do better than your ND days.

With examinations starting on Monday, prepare adequately.

✍️ Avoid examination malpractice.
✍️ Read diligently.
✍️ Be calm and confident.
✍️ Pray and trust your preparation.
✍️ Throw away fear confidence comes from readiness.

Finally, Celebrate your matriculation today, but do so with moderation. Monday is just around the corner. Let your joy not steal your preparation time.

Once again, congratulations to you all. May your journey in Federal Polytechnic Idah be fruitful, impactful, and successful..Amen

Welcome officially, and may you all return for convocation with pride and fulfillment 🙏.
