Another proud and inspiring moment for the Department of Western Music and University Of The Visual & Performing Arts !

The remarkable production of Tharana Sigiri Opera, led by our talented alumnus Sagara Suresh Wijesinghe , stands as a true testament to the creativity, dedication, and excellence nurtured within our department.

We are especially proud to see the strong presence of our academic and artistic community in this production — with contributions from Wasantha Kumara Geekiyanage , Janith Ganga Abeynayake , Manoj Wijayawardana , Gayanath Dahanayaka , Ruwin Dias and Manoj Sanjeewa Gunathilake , alongside former students including Risuri Senevirathne , Hirantha Maduranga .

It is equally heartening to witness our current students shining on such a prestigious platform: Sanali Kathriarachchi , Oshini Wathsala , Yomasha Samarawickrama , Semini Dilshika, Florenc dias , and Dulith Wathsara. Your passion and commitment truly make us proud!

This beautiful collaboration between alumni and current students reflects the strength, unity, and artistic vision of the UVPA family.
