The role of government institutions in a capitalistic society
The relationship between government and the individual
The relationship between political and economic freedom
The moral structure of a free market economy

Congratulations to economics students Hunter Poe, Lilliana Myers, and Parker Palmer on earning the Members’ Choice Award in the 2026 Association of Private Enterprise Education Undergraduate Research Competition.

They were recognized on April 7th at the association’s 50th annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, for their research presentation, “Flying the Friendly Skies of Special Interests: Airline Contributions and Congressional Support for Raising the Pilot Retirement Age.”

Market Process Scholar & CofC alum ('23), Lucas Moyon is headed to Harvard for a joint MPP from Harvard Kennedy School and MBA from Harvard Business School where he hopes to focus on aerospace business and policy. Currently an analyst at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC., Moyon majored in economics, physics, and astronomy. College of Charleston School of Business
