*THE SILENT ABUSE OF TEACHERS THE WORLD IGNORES.*
In today’s world, being a teacher has become one of the most Misunderstood, Discriminative and Thankless vocations. Not because of low salaries alone, but the weight of expectations society places on them.
Teachers are judged before they teach, blamed before they speak, and criticized before they act. The world demands perfection from them, yet offers very little understanding in return.
If a teacher is strict, he’s called harsh.
If he is friendly, he’s called too soft.
If he gives many assignments, he is frustrating.
If she gives few, she is lazy.
If he talks to girls, he is "suspect."
If he talks to boys, he is “favouring them.”
If he interacts with parents, he is “seeking attention.”
If he avoids parents, he is “hiding something.”
If a teacher dresses smartly, he’s showing off.
If he dresses simply, he is shabby.
If the students fail, he is to blame.
If they pass, “the students were simply clever.”
If a teacher corrects a child, he is “abusive.”
If he doesn't, he is “careless.”
If he disciplines, he is “wicked.”
If he doesn’t, he is “not serious.”
Whatever a teacher does, someone has a complaint.
The world demands that teachers be;
role models, counselors,
psychologists, parents, mediators, motivators, moral guides, administrators, security guards, examiners, pastors, all at the same time.
Yet the same world rarely stops to ask:
“Is this teacher okay? Is this teacher appreciated? Is this teacher supported?”
Behind every lesson is a tired teacher.
Behind every exam is a stressed teacher.
Behind every report card is a teacher who has sacrificed sleep.
Behind every good performance is a teacher who pushed a child like their own.
Behind every smiling class is a teacher hiding personal struggles.
Teachers silently bleed.
They face pressures from students, parents, school administrators, and society while carrying their own hidden battles that no one sees.
It takes a brave soul to choose teaching in a world that underpays, undervalues, and misunderstands teachers.
It takes a generous heart to pour knowledge into the next generation while receiving very little appreciation.
It takes a patient spirit to shape children whose future may never remember the name of the teacher who formed them.
If you truly value teachers, don’t wait until Teachers’ Day, Retirement, or Funerals to appreciate them.
Appreciate them now.
Support them now.
Pray for them now.
Stand with them now.
Because while the world sees a teacher,
God sees a builder of nations, a shaper of destinies, a planter of seeds that will feed generations yet unborn.
*As we enter this festive season* :
Do something different.
Do something thoughtful.
Do something kind.
Buy a simple end of year gift for your former teacher, your child’s teacher, or a teacher in your community.
It doesn’t have to be expensive; Even a notebook, a tie, a scarf, a bag, a kilogram of sugar, or a simple new year card is enough.
This festive season, walk to your teacher and say:
“Teacher, Happy New Year. Thank you for shaping my life.”
You have no idea how this small act can lift a discouraged teacher, strengthen a tired one, or remind a forgotten one that their work is not in vain.
A simple gift.
A simple “Thank you.”
A simple gesture of love.
Let’s make this new year a healing one for our teachers. Let the teachers enter this new year with good news about salary increase. The English we use everywhere in the world was given to us by teachers. Let this message reach our Parliament in good faith. Amen.
Teachers Message
A blessed Christmas festive season to you all. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
