That's a wrap! Really proud of these students who all shone at the World Congress of Herpetology, and who all grabbed the chances to see incredible places and biodiversity with both hands. A huge thanks to all the people who supported our Back a Buddy crowd-funding campaign to get them here--you will be receiving more thorough feedback in due course. Now for the long, slow journey home.

Just got back from Upemba National Park, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. What a crazy experience. As lead scientist for this expedition I learnt so much. Thank you to all the scientists that helped me to collect such valuable and informative data. Thank you to Upemba National Park, Forgotten Parks Foundation, ICCN, University of Lubumbashi and everyone else for making this expedition a reality. Now it's time to analyze. I will be in the genetics lab for a few weeks but I am excited to share some of my awesome experiences in the Congo over the next few months.
