The Acting Human Resources Director at the Free State Department of Education, Mr Tello Khodumo, addressed key aspects of the conditions of service for teachers. He outlined the department’s expectations regarding professional conduct, accountability, workload management, leave provisions, and strict adherence to education policies and regulations.

Mr Khodumo further encouraged educators to remain committed to ethical practice and professionalism in the delivery of quality teaching and learning.

The CEO of SACE, Ms Ella Mokgalane, engaged student teachers on the important role of the South African Council for Educators (SACE) in regulating the teaching profession. She emphasised that full SACE registration is a compulsory requirement for entry into the profession and highlighted the importance of maintaining ethical and professional conduct at all times.

Ms Mokgalane also addressed common offences that may lead to teachers being barred from the profession and encouraged students to familiarise themselves with education policies to build a strong foundation for their teaching careers.
