Dr Cobus van Breda won the Societal Impact Award, while 𝐙𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭-𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 while Prof Motlalepula Matsabisa was honoured with the Hamilton Naki Award.
