Nuffic Southern Africa

Nuffic Southern Africa Welcome to the future of Nuffic in Southern Africa - supporting the internationalization of education in the Netherlands and Southern Africa.

Nuffic has set up offices in locations that are strategically important for Dutch higher education, under the 'Neso activities'. Neso is short for Netherlands Education Support Offices. The main task of a Nuffic Neso is to promote Dutch higher education and foster international institutional cooperation in order to increase student and staff mobility and related activities. The offices also serve

as a channel for information and provide support and liaison for the academic communities of the Netherlands and of the country they are situated in. They provide information and guidance regarding the choice of an international course or programme of education or training. The core activities of the Nuffic Neso are:

- Promotion of Dutch higher educationand student counseling
- Institutional cooperation
- Market information and analysis
- Holland alumni networks

In addition to the core activities of a Nuffic Neso, the emphasis in South Africa will be on:
- Helping to build capacity in (higher) education
- Forging and expanding alliances
- Mediating between parties in student
- Staff exchanges and work placements
- Searching for and mediating in new sources of finance
- Building lasting ties with students and alumni
