Ready to take your sailing career to the next level? ⛵️

Our RYA Cruising Instructor Sail Course is taking place 23–27 November 2026 in Langebaan.

This course is designed for experienced sailors who are ready to share their knowledge and start teaching the next generation of sailors.

Prerequisites:
📌 RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence with current Commercial Endorsement
📌 Current RYA Membership
📌 Valid First Aid Certificate
📌 Completed Cruising Instructor Pre-Course Knowledge Interactive Online Course (e-certificate required)

Upon successful completion, candidates will be qualified to teach RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper courses.

Our students spent their days learning, sailing, and soaking up some of the most magical moments the ocean can offer — including a pod of dolphins and even a whale cruising alongside the boat. 🐬🐋💙

Meet Marlon Jones;

With over 21 years of sailing experience, Marlon is at the heart of Yachtmaster Ocean Sailing School — a true ocean lover and all-around legend on the water. 🌊
Marlon first set sail with the Izivungu Vungu Sailing Foundation, where his lifelong passion for the sea began. Since then, his journey has taken him from racing yachts along the Cape Coast to Mediterranean sailing holidays, and even working with North Sails, one of the most respected names in the sailing world.
For the past 10 years, Marlon has been a dedicated instructor for both RYA and SAS courses, sharing his expertise and ocean wisdom with students of all backgrounds. Whether he’s coaching future skippers or trimming sails in a regatta, Marlon brings the perfect mix of skill, humour, and heart to everything he does.
When he’s not out teaching or racing, you’ll find him fishing off the back of a boat, soaking up the peace and quiet only the ocean can offer. 🎣
We couldn’t ask for a better Chief Instructor — a brilliant sailor, a natural teacher, and a genuinely fantastic person who makes everyone feel at home on the water. 💙

🌊✨ Meet Jealinda – the anchor of our shore team and the amazing General Assistant at Yachtmaster Ocean Sailing Academy! ⛵️🫶💼

From the office to the dock, Jealinda always has her boots on the ground 🥾💪🏼 Whether it’s assisting the office, prepping classrooms for the next theory course, organising gear, or simply being the friendly face that welcomes everyone to the academy at the front door 😊🌞 — she does it all with grace, calm, and a brilliant smile!

She’s the behind-the-scenes powerhouse 💪🔥 who ensures that our admin staff is supported, our day-to-day systems flow smoothly, and our students feel right at home. If you’ve ever needed something sorted quickly or in need of a delicious cup of coffee, chances are you’ve already felt Jealinda’s magic touch 🪄❤️
