Through our partnership with and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa and , we are empowering a group of persons with disabilities sponsored by Mutual - RMA with essential business and market-access skills.
The training focuses on Market Opportunities, Agri-Industry perspectives, market readiness and compliance, sales strategies for SMEs, and aggregator support and supplier opportunities.

The goal is to ensure that when participants establish and grow their farming enterprises, they are equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools needed to access markets, identify opportunities, and connect with the right industry partners.

In an endeavour to diversify the crops produced on campus, Buhle Farmers Academy has entered into a strategic partnership with Soufflet Malt to produce barley — a key crop used in the production of beverages across the country.

With Soufflet Malt currently constructing a R2 billion (€100 million) malting facility in the Midvaal Municipality, south of Johannesburg, and scheduled for completion in 2027, Buhle is proud to play a strategic and meaningful role in this exciting agricultural development.

Training sessions with the Buhle staff were successfully concluded today, marking another important milestone in strengthening skills, innovation, and future opportunities within the barley value chain. We are proud to be partnering on projects that contribute to the growth and sustainability of South African agriculture.

Graduation day at Buhle Farmers' Academy was truly an amazing celebration as we honoured 70 graduates who successfully completed programmes in Grain Crop Production, Poultry Production, Livestock Production, and Vegetable Production. 🌱🎓
We were privileged to welcome esteemed guests, including the Executive Mayor of Victor Khanye Local Municipality, honourable Cllr. Kleinbooi Vusi Buda.

Senior Manager from the National Agricultural Marketing Council , Mr Bonani Nyhodo, delivered a powerful keynote speech highlighting the vital role young people play in shaping the present and future of agriculture.

Our guest speaker Michelle Janse van Rensburg from Meadow Feeds, encouraged graduates to become leaders of innovation, sustainability, and food security within the sector.

To all the stakeholders who attended the graduations and played a vital part in shaping the day for the students, we are truly grateful.

Congratulations to all our graduates! Your agricultural journey is only beginning, and the future of farming is in your hands. 🚜🌾

Buhle alumni farmer story:
Siyanqoba Nkosi - resilience in farming and the pursuit of excellence 🌱

A young farmer from Bronkhorstspruit grew up helping his father on their family farm, working with cattle, goats, and soya beans. After completing a poultry production course at Buhle Farmers' Academy in 2022, he stepped up to lead the farming operations following a family tragedy.

Despite challenges such as crime, machinery, and water shortages affecting some of his crops, Siyanqoba pushed forward and expanded production by renting additional land for soya bean farming. To date, he has already harvested over 90 tons of soya beans and continues harvesting.

His journey is a true example of resilience, hard work, and dedication to agriculture. 👏🌾
