"What impact will your research make?"

This powerful question set the tone for an inspiring keynote address by Dr Anissa McNeil.

Drawing from her own doctoral journey and extensive professional experience, Dr McNeil reminded attendees that research is about far more than earning a qualification.

"Research has the power to change and transform lives," she shared, challenging scholars to pursue research that addresses real-world challenges, informs decision-making, and creates meaningful impact within communities and industries.

Encouraging doctoral candidates to think boldly and purposefully, she urged them to "choose a topic that makes you want to get up in the middle of the night and dance with it" and to remain committed to research that matters.

Perhaps the most powerful takeaway from the session was her call to researchers to "create a document that will change lives, but also build a legacy."
Thank you, Dr Anissa McNeil, for delivering a thought-provoking keynote that inspired scholars to view research not only as a pursuit of knowledge, but as a vehicle for lasting change.

Over the next eight weeks, a cohort of ambitious entrepreneurs from across South Africa will embark on a transformative journey of discovery, validation, business development, and pitching as they work to turn ideas into viable ventures.

Hosted by the MANCOSA Centre for Innovation in collaboration with the Career Centre, the programme is more than an incubator, it is a platform for unlocking potential, developing entrepreneurial capability, and empowering individuals to create opportunities for themselves and their communities.
