University of Fort Hare Music Department The University of Fort Hare Music Department prepares students to enter the work force and impact communities through performance, research, and teaching.

The study of Music as an academic discipline equips learners with various skills in the historical, theoretical and practical dimensions thereof. The University of Fort Hare has a strong emphasis on Xhosa, and Western Classical music, as well as elements of Jazz Music.
