Kingsmead College

Kingsmead College Courage Always Situated in beautiful gardens in Melrose, Kingsmead is easily accessible from all areas of Greater Johannesburg.

The founder of Kingsmead College, Miss DV Thompson, planned a happy school, and this tradition continues - largely because of the spirit of comradeship between staff and girls and amongst our girls themselves. Girls from Grade 000 (Bluebells) to Matric flourish in the nurturing, yet stimulating environment.

From PrEDA to FEDA, our Kingsmead Drama students moved audiences with performances filled with heart, courage, and extraordinary talent.

This yearโ€™s production, The Accused, written by our very own Bethany Sinclaire and Moe Mlobela, invited audiences to reflect deeply on bias, judgment, and society. Brought to life by our Grade 11 and Matric Drama students, the production was powerful, emotional, and incredibly impactful.

We are so proud of every student involved, both on stage and behind the scenes, for the vulnerability, passion, and dedication they poured into this remarkable production.๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ’š

Two wonderful weeks of Kingsmead Music Festivals!

Last week we welcomed 6 other schools to perform alongside our Choir at our Kingsmead Masicule Choir Festival for two wonderfully varied and interesting evenings of choral singing.

This week we hosted the 20th Annual Ensemble festival; a fantastic celebration of ensemble playing.
Well done to our musicians for their hard work in preparing for these events! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽถ

On Sunday, 24 May, our Kingsmead Senior School Choir proudly took to the stage at the annual CCNF Choir Festival alongside six exceptional childrenโ€™s, youth, adult, and university choirs.

It was a beautiful afternoon celebrating a rich variety of musical styles and genres, united by a shared love of choral music and performance.

Our choristers represented Kingsmead with grace, passion, and excellence, and we could not be prouder of the way they showcased their talent and dedication. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽถ

Today we celebrate someone truly woven into the heart of Kingsmead.
