UMgungundlovu TVET College students showcased remarkable talent, discipline and sportsmanship at the COSACA KZN Provincial Ball Games, hosted by Esayidi TVET College at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre in Port Shepstone.

Their commitment in both netball and soccer paid off, with several athletes earning provincial recognition.

Msinga Campus recently hosted a highly successful Open Day, welcoming prospective students from various rural communities.

The event provided valuable information on our 2027 academic programmes, career pathways, and exciting opportunities available at the campus. Attendees also had the chance to learn more about our newly introduced Occupational Certificates, designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills for the world of work.

Our campus was buzzing with excitement as community members and learners from various schools joined us for Open Day.

One of the key highlights of the presentations was the introduction of Occupational Programmes (OCs) which have been developed in consultation with industry partners to ensure they respond directly to current and future workforce needs. UMgungundlovu TVET College hosted a Student Safety Awareness Campaign at Msunduzi Campus. The campaign was aimed at educating and empowering students on important safety matters including personal security, crime prevention, gender-based violence awareness, substance abuse prevention as well as emergency response procedures.

Through informative presentations, interactive discussions and engagement with relevant stakeholders and law enforcement agencies, students gained valuable knowledge and practical skills to help them make safe and responsible decisions. This initiative reflected the College's commitment to creating a secure, supportive, conducive and student-centred learning environment for all students of uMgungundlovu TVET College.

In celebration of August TVET Month, Edendale Campus held an Open Day aimed at showcasing the diverse educational and career opportunities available through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The event attracted students from various schools across Pietermaritzburg, providing them with an opportunity to explore the campus, interact with lecturers and current students, gain valuable insight into the programmes and facilities offered at the college.
Through informative presentations, exhibitions and guided tours, learners were encouraged to consider TVET education as a pathway to developing practical skills and preparing for future careers. The Strategic Planning Session is underway at uMgungundlovu TVET College, from 13-14 August 2026. This important two-day engagement is attended by College Council members, Academic Board members and College managers. The purpose of the session is to reflect on institutional priorities, align strategic objectives and shape the future direction of the College.

Through collaboration, innovation and shared leadership, participants will contribute to strengthening the College's commitment to quality education, student success as well as sustainable growth.
