DASO PE College

DASO PE College The Official page of DASO PE College. DASO is the Democratic Alliance Students Organisation.

A DASO branch is a DA Youth branch based on a tertiary campus, and therefore in itself subscribes to the vision, mission, and strategies of the DA Youth however with its own unique focus. We, the students of the Democratic Alliance, rooted in the values of constitutional liberal democracy, believe that education is the cornerstone of the liberation of all South Africans and the catalyst for the fu

ll realisation of the rights and freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution. We further believe that intellectual independence and open debate are vital to the preservation of a healthy democracy. We advocate the enrichment of the whole individual – intellectual, personal, cultural and physical – at institutions of tertiary education, through the development of academic, social, cultural and sporting facilities. We therefore commit ourselves to the protection and promotion of an open and free educational environment based on academic freedom, equality of opportunity and respect for individual worth.

RE:DASO at Dower Campus

DASO Port Elizabeth TVET College Dower campus successfully hosted a Sanitary, Membership and Petition Drive which was met with an overwhelming response from students across campus.

This strong participation demonstrates the growing confidence students have in DASO as a militant and responsive student movement that places the needs of students at the center of its work.

DASO remains resolute in its mission to organize, mobilize and defend the interests of students. The momentum shown during this drive is a clear message that students are ready to stand united behind a leadership that does not only make promises but actively works on the ground to deliver real change.

RE:DASO PE College Launches the Sanitary Drive Across All Campuses

DASO at PE College proudly announces the launch of the Sisonke Sanitary Drive, a campaign aimed at restoring dignity and supporting students who face challenges accessing essential sanitary products.

As part of this initiative, DASO will be distributing sanitary pads across all campuses of PE College to ensure that no student is forced to miss classes or academic activities due to lack of basic menstrual hygiene products.

Access to sanitary products is not a luxury but a fundamental necessity that directly affects the wellbeing, confidence and academic participation of students.

DASO calls upon students, stakeholders and partners to support this drive as we work collectively to ensure that every student is empowered and able to participate fully in campus life without barriers.

Together, Sisonke – we are stronger when we stand united for student dignity.

Yours in leadership,
DASO IC

RE: DASO PE College Games Night

DASO at Port Elizabeth TVET College is pleased to announce the resounding success of its Games Night held at Castle House student accommodation.

The event brought together students from across campuses for an evening of fun, laughter and friendship . Our social gathering provided a valuable opportunity for students to unwind from academic pressures and de-stress.

Its moments like these that remind us that student life is about more than lectures and exams. It's about human connection, mutual support and the exchange of ideas that help shape our future.

This event perfectly captured what DASO stands for, creating spaces where students can come together enjoy themselves and foster a sense of belonging on and off campus.

We extend our appreciation to all students who attended and contributed to making the evening a great success.

Regards,
DASO PE college IC

🚨🚨🚨

POOR ATTENDANCE OF NCV STUDENTS

- Students you are urged by the management and by your student leaders to please attend classes to avoid being behind with school work i.e assignments and PATs. The workload will continue to pile up resulting in you not being able to cope.

-Our lecturers ( more especially in Dower ) have been very generous by extending submission dates and also for tests, let us meet them halfway as we are preparing for our ISATs and Trial exams.
