If you missed it, a certain celebrity recently made some comments about ballet and opera 👀
Of course - people are allowed to connect more strongly with some art forms than others. That’s human. But it did feel like a good moment to pause and reflect on just how much ballet and opera have given to the performing arts world.
Ballet has been around for centuries and remains the foundation of so much dance training today - not just in technique, but in discipline, strength, musicality, and control.
Opera, too, has shaped the way we think about voice, storytelling, and live performance, and its influence can still be felt in musical theatre and beyond.
We see the impact of these forms in our students all the time. Some arrive with years of ballet behind them. Others have classical vocal training. And what they bring with them is never just “steps” or “notes” - it’s work ethic, sensitivity, stamina, and a deep respect for craft.
Live performance in all its forms still matters. It still moves people. It still builds artists.
And we’re proud to be keeping it alive ♥️
