Graduating in December 2023 and wondering what to do while you search for that perfect job?
Don't look too far as the Division Student Affairs / Studentesake at Stellenbosch University is looking for three interns for a three-month paid internship starting in January 2024 and ending on the last day of March 2024!
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CAN ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE A GRADUATE AND GRADUATING IN DECEMBER 2023 or MARCH 2024. We just need proof you've obtained your degree.

We are looking for three graduates (graduated in 2022 or graduating at the end of 2023 or in March 2024) who can work under the leadership of our Communications Coordinator as a content writer for between 12-20 hours per week for a monthly salary of R5 000.
The programme is funded by the Presidential Youth Employment Scheme initiative which aims to provide graduates with work experience to enhance their employability. Graduates must not have had previous work experience in a permanent position.
The graduate will be provided with a work desk, laptop, WIFI, and landline as well as a staff card for the 3 months that they work at the institution.
Graduates are not expected to have a car or a driverโs license.
The appointed candidates will be mentored by our Communications Coordinator and report to her.
Below are further criteria that the graduates must meet:
1. South African citizens
2. Unemployed Youth (18 โ 35)
3. Graduate (undergraduate or postgraduate degree)
4. May not currently be studying
4. Preference will be given to disabled graduates where
possible
5. Equitable gender representation
6. Population group demographic representation (this may
vary provincially)
Interested parties can send a short resume/CV and motivation letter to Lynne indicating why they believe they are the right candidate for this position. A short interview will be conducted on Monday, 4 December, and the successful three candidates will be informed immediately.

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE WORK TASKS?
The successful candidate will be required to conduct interviews and write news stories, attend events where necessary to write stories about those events, write content for social media and the divisionโs web pages (this includes the centres and units in the division when needed), film and create short videos on Canva, and take photographs (this is not a requirement but a nice to have).
A camera will be provided for the graduate to use. They will also have to liaise with various centres and units within the division to obtain information we need to create media briefing documents and help with background research for projects we are working on as well as assist with campaigns on social media.
Candidates with limited experience in the above, may still apply for this position as training and mentorship will be provided during the internship. It is important that you can communicate well in English and/or Afrikaans.
