The PASMA-led SRC would like to inform students that we have successfully managed to secure limited food parcels from a service provider who partnered with us in giving back to the student community during this examination period. In addition, a soup kitchen initiative has also been introduced to assist unfunded and defunded students during this challenging time.
The institution issued 70 food parcels last week to assist students in need. This week, the SRC also managed to lobby and secure an additional 40 food parcels in an effort to continue supporting students during the examination period.
We would like to clarify that the process of food parcel distribution is coordinated through the Wellness Centre. Students who qualify to receive food parcels are contacted directly via email by the Wellness Centre and requested to come collect their parcels accordingly.
We understand the frustrations and concerns raised by students regarding food parcel distribution. However, we kindly ask for patience and understanding as there is an existing list that is being followed to ensure fairness and proper distribution to students most in need.
Students who wish to be added to the list are kindly requested to contact:
Health and Welfare Officer - Z Madolo ( 063 386 5849)
Transformation Officer- R Litabe (071 752 1851)
for assistance and further guidance.
Furthermore, unfunded and defunded students also continue to receive daily meals at 12:30 PM as part of the ongoing support measures during the examination period.
As the SRC, we remain committed to supporting students and continuing to seek assistance wherever possible for the benefit of our student community.
We wish all students strength and success during the examination period.
Regards
PASMA-led SRC
