🇿🇲🚨 Government and the Lungu Family start formal discussion and mediation to resolve outstanding issues
Today Friday the 5th of September, 2025, marks exactly three (3) monthsa since the sixth Republican President of Zambia, Dr EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU passed on 5th June, 2025 but has not been put rest due unexpected legal battle of the place of burial between the government and the family.
There have been several progressive, as well as counter reactions from both sides resulting in having an unclear date or venue for the final resting place for the former Zambian head of state.
The latest positive news is that the Government and the Family of the late sixth President Edgar Lungu have started formal discussions and a mediated process that will be employed to resolve outstanding issues. Below is a statement issued by the two parties.
We only hope that the best, neutral, fair and final resolution will be made away from the courts of law, that will be in the best interest of the family, government and most importantly the Zambian people.🇿🇲
